Making small baskets using palm leaves from the botanical garden 🌿🧺
Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden and GOOD NATURE STATION present "Traveling Botanical Garden 2026," a special collaboration returning after two years. As a special event, we will be holding a craft Shop where you can connect with nature close at hand!
This time, we'll be welcoming Mr. Arahori, the deputy director of Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden, as our instructor, and we'll be trying our hand at "making small baskets" using real palm leaves grown at the botanical garden. Why not create your own basket that will gently blend into your daily life while experiencing the blessings of nature with all your senses? Even if you're a beginner, you can participate with confidence as we will provide thorough instruction.

🧺 Participation Guide
500 yen (tax included)
- Explanation of palm leaf and basket making by Deputy Director Arahori of the botanical garden.
- Palm leaf basket weaving experience (even beginners can easily make one)
・You can take your finished artwork home with you.
■ What to bring and what to wear
・You don't need to bring anything in particular. Please feel free to come empty-handed.
*Since we will be working with natural plants, please wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.

- Registration will close once the maximum number of participants for each session is reached.
